The information is easily accessible from the intranet. Any CSR can get
to it.

Yes Jon, but even I've been misfed information on 150, and had to refer them
to Scholar

Re: 0800 charging on Orange from 1st December 2005 - a reminder
Exactly! Now Orange are no different from all other networks, so I simply
found the best deal, with no regard to which network it was on.
My 0800 calls will now come out of 200 inclusive minutes, while such calls
on my previous(now little used) OVP Vm would cost me.
But these days Orange are very excited about TV on mobiles . . . . . . . .
which will make them a packet

I expect O2 to follow suit in 2006.

I thought 0845 was 12p/min Peak on ED50? (Not that I ever paid Orange
for such a call in the last few years!)

Did I dream it when they did this already a few years ago? I seem to
remember threads in here about it.

Dial an 0800 number now and see what it says.

There were two other 0800 charging changes I can remember. Both had
extensive threads.
One was charging for 0800 on OVP Virgin, still got the text message
about that on an old phone. That was 1st May 2003.
Some time before that was charging for 0800 data calls. They were free
at one point then became chargeable. Not sure of the date of that one.

Re: 0800 charging on Orange from TODAY 1st December 2005
I only ever used the 0800 mainly for work calls as it was cheaper for my
employer.
Now got a Vodaphone business tariff.

Re: 0800 charging on Orange from TODAY 1st December 2005
I don't understand why its felt this is such a loss.
I can only recall 2 occasions when I've needed to call an 0800 number
from a mobile.
Have I been missing some amazing stuff on 0800 numbers?

How long do they plan to have the announcement? It's annoying (and
interferes with the calling card function on my phone.)

The only non calling-card number I called was the digital banking
number. However, the use of calling cards (routing calls via freephone
access) meant calls were very cheap. I made several calls in the middle
of the day for example, up to an hour or longer, which would be charged
only 3p by the third party, and of course nothing by orange. Good while
it lasted, but nothing lasts forever, and this change just encourages me
to look at different ways of saving money on Orange, and almost
certainly means they'll lose £30 a month up front for two contracts I
had with them. I'm not interested in shiny new phones, so they can't
hook me in that way...

T-Mobile now allow PAC'ing a number in at any time, and I think Three do as
well.
