Well here we are again at cashback stage 2, and as per stage one in May
have received a cashback cheque for half the correct amount( £37.50 in
lieu of £78.06), despite me sending a covering letter informing them
of the mistake made in May, and *****ing out the scheme particulars and
the correct amount due, sent by RM Special delivery at a cost of nearly
£6 with consequential loss insurance to cover all eventualities.
The second time they have pulled this stunt sending a second follow up
cheque in May after I kicked off and with many assurances it wouldn't
happen again and with 'dismay' that their usually impeccable system had
temporarily 'blipped' - yeah right, firstly rely on people forgetting
to claim, secondly rely on people not sending the right documents,
thirdly by not sending by trackable recorded/Special Delivery means
then if they look to be costing you you can claim it never arrived,
then finally as a last, desperate resort rely on a good percentage
getting half of their correct amount and not being arsed to follow it
up and you've got yourself a pretty good cashback ?/business
    scam/model.
Of course they want me to ring them on the (undisclosed cost) 0871
number to query the cheque which will undoubtedly run up a bill (in
their favour) of the shortchanged amount so no I won't be doing that.
Of course not one of the many many various customer/order/reference
numbers originally applied to the order 12 months ago is recognised
allowing me to use the 'interactive online help' system they advise you
to use in their endless select option...customer servics (laughably
    quoted).telephone loop'
I'm fed up with these idiots, more obstacles, hurdles and clauses than
you can shake a stick at, then when you comply they try the 'short
change' scam to try and prolong/defer/terminate the full settlement.
A recorded delivery letter on its way to Mr Charle Dunstone CEO of
Carphone Whorehouse who signed the cheque, no supplementary cheque
within 14 days, a follow up online small claims claim for the amount
    plus costs.
Last of my business guys thank you.
Cheque or Doncaster Small claims court - no 0871 numbers for me Mr
    Dunstone.
Trivial amount but a principle here.
    Rant over.

Makes me glad I went with Mobileshop now. 2 vouchers, send off your
latest bill to them before the date printed on the voucher, and a number
of weeks later, received a cheque for the correct amount. Fast email
replies regarding confirmation about which bill etc to send. As pain
free as these cashback schemes probably could be (short of fully automatic!)

Thank you for your input and candour Mr Blueghost
You are probably thinking I knew this resouce existed, then I most
certainly would have 'bothered' to look.
Kinda trips off the tongue doesn't it, you'd have thought I'd have
remembered that web resource or even guessed at the name really on the
    'offchance' it existed.
Is there also a 'saynoto0871.com' incidentally, which was the actual
prefix in question if you'd 'bothered to look'.
Thanks again however, I am now feel suitably educated.

The tone of your reply seemed offensive.

saynoto0870 is a well-known web site, and I'd have assumed that most
internet-savvy people would know of it.

It's not BlueGhost's fault you were ignorant of it.

The reply was not as offensive as the original reply to his original post
which whilst was helpful was also to annoying especially to those thinking
they were asking a genuine question. There are a lot of people on the
internet with very little patience simply because they themselves are highly
familiar with the internet and know the first stop to go is Google and
follow it on from there. Some people know about SayNoTo0870 but it whilst
it is a common website for those that are familiar and regularly use with
the bargains and discounts websites and telecoms websites, it is not so
obvious to anyone outside of this group.
