Unlocking question

I need a new handset for my O2 PAYG.
If buy another PAYG phone as long as it is an O2 will I need to have it
unlocked or will it work with my sim right out of the box?

If it's O2 branded, or sold for use on O2, it is almost certainly
unlocked. O2 is unique amongst UK networks in selling phones that are
unlocked.

That said, you could also buy an unlocked handset but they are probably
going to cost you more.

Only on contract IIRC, I think their PAYG handsets are locked, but I could
be wrong.

Should be OK m8.
If you have an O2 pay as you go sim and you buy an O2 pay as you go handset,
its 99.99999% gonna be ok.
Ur'l only need to get it unlocked if you wana put a sim in from another
network..
