Reset Orange Answerphone, Mission Impossible?

Hmm,

All I want to do is have a default message, and NO recorded name. Seems that
according to OCS this isn't possible. I have rang twice, the first time I was
fobbed off completely being told that is the new message for all Orange
customers. I could have sworn it wasn't. But checked my other Orange phone to
make sure I was not talking a crock. I wasn't.

When I called back, the bloke on the line said he would reset it by terminating
my answerphone and then re-enabling it. So far that has not happened.

All I want is "Welcome to the Orange answerphone, Sorry but the person you
called is not available, please leave your message after the tone"

All I get is "Welcome to the Orange answerphone..<pause> is not available,
please leave your message after the tone".

Why isn't it a user setting to remove the recorded name completely? I did a
google search and the odd person has been trying to do this for years.

Mike

I have switched between standard and recorded messages several times over
the years and haven't had a problem. Mind you, I have never recorded my
name..!

Why not record your name as "the person you called" - in as close a voice to
the rest of the message as possible?

Its the recorded name which is the problem, I can reset the greeting ok. Looks
like Orange have totally disabled my Answer Phone now. LOL.

Its probably not a bad thing! )

Thanks,

Mike

That would just be weird....he'd be as well saying the whole thing himself.

Dial answerphone > 3 > 1 > 2 which selects a standard greeting.

That sounds like the most likely method to work.

Yeh, this is the problem.

It didnt, the answephone is just re-enabled now after being dead for a couple
of hours, back with the original "blank" name recording. Grrr.

Looks like I am going to have to sample the original message from my other
Orange phone and play it back in to the phone as a custom greeting.

I honestly can't believe this isnt a user option in the answephone.

Thanks anyway.

Mike

It does seem like a bit of a glaring omission.
