Hi
Re the 49.99/yr offer of 200 mins /month from www.mercurymobiles.com -
All it says is that 200 mins anytime x-network are included. It doesn't
explain it any further.
Does this include calls to any mobile network and landline numbers?

i would have thought "200 mins anytime x-network" meant it was valid to

It probably does but i wanted also to know whether non-geographic numbers
are included or excluded and so sent them an enquiry to that effect

Do they not have a number you cn call them on or email ddress to contact
them via?
I would personally avoid them after looking at the Companies House website
for more info on the company and directors. i am not suggesting others do
by the way, i am sure they will suit some people, but it's not for me. if
you like the sound of the deal then go for it as it seems very good value
for money IF genuine.

Non geographic numbers are excluded but are charged at reasonable
rates.

It is mainly O2 contracts (or derivitives of them) that allow these
numbers to be taken from inclusive minutes.
HTH.

Someone that I know who took out the deal seems to have been charged for
calls to landline (standard 0208 etc) numbers.
They have not been included in the free minutes.
Surely this must be an error I hope?

I do, particularly if it means I pay £90 line rental for two years
connection instead of £450 to £500. After all, most of the support you
will want will be from the network, not from the retail dealer.
My concern is that the company's finances look a bit shaky. I can't
publish the details here for copyright reasons (and because I'm
working from memory) but I think it's a fair summary to say that they
have filed few returns, and those that have I've seen details of show
about £10,000 debt and not much else.
I suspect that the company's finances are better than the Companies
House returns suggest, but that has its own associated concerns.

I'm not suggesting that MM are good or bad, but I accept that it is a
perfectly sensible approach not to spend a fortune on traditional
advertising, but use affiliates and other 'word of keyboard' methods
instead.

I don't know how "virtual" they are. May be reselling t-mobile, or may
be a full VNO. I don't know anyone who has signed up, so I have noone
to ask.
I was tempted, but their company finances make it look like a gamble.
