I am also porting out of "3" with a view to getting a new contract and
porting back to "3" again.
However in December "3" have cut back on dealer incentives hence cashbacks
etc are not as good as they were in some previous months. There is
speculation that offerings from "3" in January and February will be better.
On that basis I expect to use the PAYG I port to for a few weeks, mainly for
texts, the best value I thought was "Tesco Value" - no bells or whistles,
just 15p per minute calls and 5p texts. Tesco CS were surprisingly efficient
(although used an 0870 number) and hopefully will be similarly efficient
when I ask for my PAC.
SIM cost £3.50 but get £5 credit when I ported in a
number.
I had thought of o2 as good PAYG value for a few weeks but had read many
horror stories of o2 PAYG CS being a nightmare and having to call on a
premium rate number etc.
Hope this helps
