I think you could change that to is there anything to equal the 6310i
yet and the answer IMHO would still be no. It is a shame that Nokia
don't wake up to that reality as there must be an enormous potential
market opportunity out there even for a 6310i Mk2

The 6310i was one of the greatest phones at the time. The blue display was
superb. It also had large tactile keys, a nice form factor and looked
professional.
In terms of features the 6630 beats the 6310i...don't know if I can say it
is better though all things being relative. | | | |

It's a bit tricky to play snake on though, due to the profile of those
keys ;-)

Doesn't matter how good it is, it won't fit my car kit, and I'm not
mucking about with adaptors. Does it have an external antenna socket..?

Some (like me) think that it still is one of the greatest phones.

Nothing else out there to match AFAIK and I wasn't as keen on the 6630
key pad.

Yes, and great talk time and fantastic stand by time as well.

Well I suppose that it depends on what features you want. I want a
phone with good talk and stand by time, that feels reasonably solid
(mine has survived a few knocks over the years) is easy to use and has
tactile keys. Most of the new ones don't match up to that, list. The
talk time and stand by time are not as good, the phones feel less
substantial, the keys on some are atrocious. Some of the others
facilities that are available now might be a bonus but are not essential
for me but I am willing to be persuaded.

Well, it ain't gonna be as good as a 6310i (It's unlikely anything will) and
it ain't gonna fit a cark91 but a Nokia 6021 might come close... http://www.nokia.co.uk/nokia/0,,71687,00.html

Yes, the spec's close to the 6310i, but the battery life is not as good,
probably because the silly colour screen draws more than the mono one.
It fits a CARK-91 if you fit a CA-55 converter, allegedly. That's a more
confidence-inspiring solution than the various dodgy 3rd-party adaptors. http://www.nokia.co.uk/nokia/0,,74739,00.html

Reliable Bluetooth?
I suppose it comes down to whether you want your mobile phone to be a phone,
or a "multimedia device". I'm definitely of the first school of thought, and
for this the 6310i is still unmatched IMO. If you want a multimedia device,
then yes - there are better devices around.
