the w800i can be switched on as a walkman only. Used in situations that call
for mobile phones to be switched off ie onboard aircraft.

Also, some say, the music quality is better on the W800i though I have both
and there is not much between them.

the W800i is supplied with better quality ear plugs, though these can now be
purchased for the K750i.

Does the 750 really not do this? My V600 does, and it seems to use identical
software.

I guess that's where the difference in music quality comes from.

when you turn on the W800i you are given 2 options, Start Phone and Music
only. The K750i does not provide these options. It is possible to install
W800i software on the K750i to provide this.

You are probably correct on the earplugs..........

Re: w800 and k750i

The reviews on Mobileburn suggest that the W800's keypad is not as nice to
use as the K750i's. Any comments on this.

Overall I assume the opinion is that the W800 is a good phone to go for?

Personally, I prefer a seperate MP3 player, and as the W800 is the first of
its kind, its worth waiting for the next model.

the w800 rocks! as well as the keyboard, the camera shutter at the back is
slightly different on the k750i.

Settings -> General -> Start-up menu -> Show

Is that option REALLY not there on the K750?

OK, I'll believe you. Must be some sort of strange marketing decision on
Sony Ericsson's part.
