I've been given a ghastly K700i as a company phone and I hate it
    already.

I tried to install the software on my company laptop, W2000, and it
doesn't work at all. Opening the 'my phones' folder it has created, or
attempting to synchronise from the menu tree I geta dialogue box which
    says:
"EPMWOR~1.exe has generated errors and will be closed by WIndows. You
will need to restart the program. An error log is being created"
Similarly running phone monitor options from the control panel says:
"An error occured while windows was working with the control panel file
    d:\program files\spny ericsson\mobile\moble phone monitor\ecsepm.cpl"

I cannot uninstall, or reinstall the software. My IR port has stopped
working and I no longer get an IR icon in the icon tray. SOny-Ericsson
have ignored my appeals for help.

Has anyone else had problems with this software on W2K?

You should never have installed it. Boot in Safe mode and you may be
able to get rid of it.

Float's Mobile Agent is what you want, not some SE rubbish.

Hmm. My corporate people only allow me to install what they supply. I
wonder what is available for Linux

In that case, they ought to be able to support it too.

Alas, alas, if only they were that consistent...
