Apparently, because I've entered 5 unlock codes (none of which worked)
the unlock can now only be done via software reset, so I'm told?

Is this something that can be done 'DIY' or is it restricted to those in
    the know?

Is this the same mobile I've seen advertised on the telly for the same
price. I thought it was PCWorld, but I can't find anything on their
website. It was definitely a Nokia though

    I've got a 6230i on O2 .... I want to give the 6230i to my daughter for
her Orange PAYG, and then i'll take the O2 SIM out of the 6230i and bung
it into the 1100 - I just want a basic phone, and the 1100 suits me.

The 'amazon' one is definitely unlocked....? If so, i'll get one.

£20 and get one that is already so...."
