Complex porting question !


Can you port the number of a new contract to an old contract at the same
time as porting the old contract number to the new contract ?

No. It is not possible to port out a number without terminating the service.

Tell that to Orange, my old Orange SIM was still working a week after I
ported out the number. Outgoing calls only, all incoming and SMS went to
the new network, but I could still dial out.

My Answerfax number is still responding to calls, although what will
happen to any faxes sent to it is a mystery..!

Had that with Orange when I ported last year for my business. Beware
though, as they were still billing for the line rental, and as it happened
to be a lead sharer group phone was something like £300 a month! Didn't
find out about either for two months as the user hadn't noticed the phone
was still live, but to be fair Orange refunded the rental from the PAC date
without argument.

As it happens when I ported out of Orange there was a "mix up" and for
an entire weekend I had to swap SIM cards to be able to do all of send
texts, receive texts, make calls and receive calls. Very shoddy.
