For the past 3/4 weeks, the signal from Orange got worse in Wymondham and
    Attleborough area. (Norfolk)

It used to be good before, but has now since got worse. Looking at my phone
at the moment, it's showing nothing!

Is there any known fault? (Jon?)

But it worked great for the past 11 months or so. It got worse about 3/4
    weeks ago or so.

Thank you. I'll wait until 9th and see if it's any improvement or not.

    Cheers.

You'd think if it was going to be off for that length of time they'd
arrange some sort of backup system.

France Telecom don't like spending money. Sod the customers.

That's what I thought too... looks like they would rather see customers
suffer than having a backup in place!

Quite possibly a backup solution would cost an absolute fortune. I don't
    know for certain of course.

Given the profits they make, a backup transmitter and portable mast
wouldn't cost that much. The networks have them anyway, you see them at
large outdoor events where they're used to provide exactly that - backup
coverage when the main sites covering the area are overloaded.
