K750i or W800? & When to Downgrade?

Sony Ericsson... that's where it's at for me these days I'm afraid so I
won't consider anything else. I like them, they like me, and I've never
found fault with the UI.

But let's say you had the choice between these two. Which would you pick?

I'm in contract, so looking at simfree or unlocked PAYG mobiles. I've
bought the K750i for £180 with £10 credit on O2 - whether I use it or not is
another matter of course - which I think is pretty decent. Awful habit of
getting the gadget bug and wanting a new phone all of a sudden, I'm sure I'm
not alone in that though

So it came down to W800 vs K750i for me and I picked the K750 - because it
was available PAYG whereas the W800 isn't. I'd never use the music features
on the W800 (proud owner of a iRiver H320) so just as a phone I think I made
the right choice.

Feel free to tell me otherwise

However now I'm in a transitional period where I'm thinking maybe it is time
for me to go PAYG, so will run this contract out and go from there. I can
now afford to buy phones up front which is nice.

I've still got err.. lots of months left on my contract (it was an 18
monther) and I pay £25/month on it, often going over due to international
texting and calling. But the thing is I don't tend to use my 200 minutes or
whathaveyou, and I can downgrade it now if I so wish. What would you
advise? Do you think I should downgrade it and switch to PAYG now? Or
carry on as I am?

(And yes, maybe buying a phone now was a bit silly )

Funny how, when I was younger, PAYG was the only option, then Contract was
the in thing, now I'm going back to PAYG

They are both the phone, same hardware. The only difference is the casing
and the software used on the phone. You can in fact turn a k750i into a
w800i easily with utilities on the internet.

The w800i and k750i are both free on a number of contracts, but you've
chosen what you've chosen, so stick with it.

Dust seems to get in the k750i joystick due to it's crap design, but apart
from that, they're the same.

Well that's just it - you use the key word "contracts" which, as I'm already
in contract, I'd ideally wish to avoid
