Have just cancelled my O2 contract, can no longer justify the monthly
cost when I rarely make any calls. I had hoped to simply switch from O2
contract to O2 pay as you go, but apparently it's not as easy as that.
O2 are handling the cancellation and will send me a PAC. I then have to
get in touch with O2 again to register for PAYG. Is there an easier way
to do this?
I guess I'll need a new sim card and then phone them with the PAC and
they'll port my number over? Would it therefore be easier/quicker to
just go to Tesco or wherever and buy a new sim (not necessarily O2) off
the shelf and then phone up with the PAC?
Are all PAYG much of a muchness or are some better than others? Don't
make many calls, occasionally use GPRS to check email, the occasional
text message and text alert with football scores.
Anywhere online I can compare the different ones available?

Useful guide, but a bit out of date. e.g. O2's payg offers 300 texts
per month if you top up by £10, plsu you can buy bundles of anynet
minutes. Free WAP of up to 1 min. Orange AIUI now offer 1000 free
texts and 1mb wap if you top up by £10 per month. Call rates are a
little different to what is on the guide.
