Best phones for selling on eBay?

I'm currently coming to the end of a Vodafone contract. I will be asking
Vodafone for the best offer to retain my custom. I expect this will be in
the form of a reduced line rental plus a new handset. I propose to sell the
handset on eBay. Obviously the best choice for me will be the handset with
the highest selling value on eBay. Possible options are likely be the Nokia
6230, Samsung D500 and maybe the Samsung D600. Which would be the best
choice amongst these? Also are there any other phones in this price range
which are popular or have a particularly good resale value compared to
retail price and would therefore be a good choice to sell on eBay? On the
other hand are there any particular makes or models best avoided because of
problems or difficulty in un-locking etc?

If I don't get an offer from Vodafone which looks attractive (i.e. I hope to
achieve approx 100 min per month X-net for almost zero net cost). If
Vodafone don't come good I will go for a cash-back deal with an expected
overall net profit after selling the phone. Is the best technique to go for
a deal with a cheap phone but minimum (zero) outlay or go for a deal with a
cash outlay and get a more expensive phone to sell?

FWIW, I recently sold two phones on eBay (£0.01 start price, no
reserve), an unlocked Motorola V545 (ended at £55) and a Nokia 6230
(ended at £82).

Strangely, the Motorola went for less despite attracting three times as
many unique bids as the Nokia.
