T610 / Tiscali Email Account and GPRS

Hi,

Ive been trying to access a tiscali email account via my orange PAYG GPRS
account for some time, and wonder if anyone in this group could help me
clear this one up and get it working....

Every time I try connecting to the account it says wrong password or
mailbox. I know the password is correct, so that just leaves the 'mailbox'
in question.... problem is I have no idea what it needs in the 'mailbox'
entry box. Can anyone help me to get my email working please?

I have the following options already set up:

Connect using: Orange WAP GPRS
Protocol: POP3
Incoming server: pop.tiscali.co.uk
Incoming Port:110
Mailbox: ?????????? (No idea what needs to be here)
Password: **********
Outgoing server: smtp.tiscali.co.uk
Outgoing port: 25
Email address: xxxxx-myemailadress-xxxxxxx@tiscali.co.uk
Download: Headers and Text
From Name: empty (no entry)
Signature: No signature
Copy outgoing: Off
Check Interval: Off

Am I doing something wrong, or is it Tiscali who are not allowing me to
access my pop3 email account externally from orange?

When I try connecting to the account it just says Mailbox or Password wrong.

What would that be then? The first part of my main tiscali email address?
Or are we talking something else?
I wondered if the reason I couldn't access the account was because I was
trying to log in with another provider. Having said that, Orange list
tiscali as an option for accessing email via GPRS....

The same user name as your normal mail client uses to log in to the
mailbox.

Worth a try. Or the complete email address. I don't know. I don't have a
Tiscali account. But they're as good a start as any. Or look in the
settings for your normal mail client.

Without a user name, you won't manage to log in even if Tiscali DO allow it
(which I'm fairly certain they do)

You should also change the outgoing server to...
smtp.orange.net
