Orangeworld Extra?

Ive just been playing around with Orangeworld having recently enabled GPRS
on my mobile. When I signed up Orange said they were giving me 12 pounds
of credit for use with orangeworld, but they said if I downloaded anything
that would be extra... What do they mean by that statement exactly??
Surely once you are connected to orangeworld, you are connected and
downloading anyway?

I quickly found out that the 12 quid they were giving me was worth bugger
all, as I used most of it up in 10 minutes, once connected! Tonight I had
another play on orangeworld, and soon realised that my 8 quid of calling
credit was gone also!! I have since topped up my calling credit, but
would like to try using orangeworld again later.

So how does this all work???

If I get a 1pound all day orange world, will I end up losing all my calling
credit again, or not?

Can anyone explain??

I thought I could pay a quid and have access to the whole internet all day,
without losing my calling credit...? Am I wrong?

As long as you have a quid or more credit then you can buy a £1 'Unlimted
GPRS For A Day' bundle.
(You need to dial 450 and follow the various menus).
The £1 bundle applies to GPRS customers only - it's not available to
customers with 3G connections.

Once you've bought the £1 bundle then you can connect to Orange GPRS (aka
Orangeworld) for as long as you want and you can use as much data as you
want.
That is until midnight that day - so best to buy the bundle early if you're
going to use it.

You can also buy a £4 bundle which gives you 4MBs of data to be used in the
course of the following month.
This is 1/4 of the price of standard pay-as-you-go data which is £4 for just
1MB.
This £4 for 4MBs bundle is available to both GPRS and 3G customers.

Browsing is free but specifically-priced items such as ringtones would
have to be paid for.

You pay £4 per megabyte. To go through £12 worth you really must have
been vising lots of pages very quickly. I rarely get through 2Mb in a
whole month and I use bits of it daily.

No.

No you are correct, unless you elect to download chargeable items (they
are clearly marked as chargeable and you have to click through at least
2 separate "do you really accept the charge?" type questions.

Well I have found that on the 4Mb per month for £4 that it got very quickly
used up. I rang Orange up about this last year and they asked me to log how
much my phone (a Nokia 8310) was using (ie writing down the GPRS usage). I'd
just check my emails via Orange mail on WAP and my credit would drop by up
to £1. They never seemed to get to the bottom of it. I moved to O2 Online
PAYG and have never had similar difficulties.

No I have used this tariff in my spare K300i and once you have spent your £1
then that is it.

No you 'shouldn't' lose any credit apart from the £1 on the 'extra'
