I've been a store manager for Dixons and a now defunct large supermarket
chain in recent years. The cost of such systems is prohibitive meaning
they're only employed in stores with large historical cash losses, then
removed and put in the next problem store.

    Erm, no it won't.

Does sound a bit funny. Usually money would be placed into a
    counter-cache box.

    <looks>

Ahhh, they may have these fancy new ones that use a fabric pouch to keep
    notes flat as they're inserted.

But the till wouldn't balance at the end of the day.

    Can't argue with that..!

Sorry to be spoil sport but what does this have to do with a telecom
NG ? Who give a sh@t what she was doing. You had your goods , you paid
had a receipt and change and its adios amigos.

If you cared so much then you should have just gone to the store
manager and reported it. You would have got no thanks and prbably told
to mind your own bloddy business. No offence like

If it can't be proved to be down to one certain individual then the
Company are pretty much powerless to act against one individual. SHort
of suspending the entire staff there's not much that can realistically
    be done.

As I've said earlier, if it can't be pinned down to a single operator
then nothing can really be done about that.

I notice my local Tesco relocated all their cameras recently following
my complaint that they were recording the entry of my PIN.

I just noticed the same with a new Tesco quite close to where I live --
the security camera is EXACTLY above the cash machine -- it's one of the
"dome types so could very easily be recording everything. Just not sure
    who to complain too.

And this sort of laughable security with Chip and PIN is why I now
    prefer cash transactions.

More fool you for letting them. I always cover one hand with the other
when entering the PIN. Unless they've got X-ray vision they won't see
    mine..!
