text message alerts query

Hope someone knows the answer to this:
My wife and I both have Siemens SL55s, when I *SEND* a text the message
alert tone plays, on hers it doesn't.
I can't find how to stop it on mine, any suggestions?
(Obviously I still want it to play on text received)

Is not the alert tone you are receiving the alert to say the other person has
received the txt OK, as in the delivery report is switched on?

Don't know, it sounds immediately the text is sent when the 'message sent'
box pops up..
Checked, delivery report is turned off.
But thanks for the suggestion.
