I think he means Tom Baker (aka Little Britain voiceovers and Dr Who etc)

I was somewhat peeved after today sending a text to my home 'phone
predicated on it being read in Tom Baker's voice.

According to the recipient, it was read out in the common or garden
voice used since launch.... and I'm 5p down for an already frivolous
text that now lacked the intended humour!

;-)

Sorry guys a typo of course I mean the infamous Tom Baker. I tried it
earlier with a message to my Mum with the start of it thus : Hello Mother
how are you today ? Are you well ? ....

She cracked up, thought it was hilarious. Try it you'll see what I mean !

Are you on T-Mobile? Apparently they have their own system which translates
a text to voice before it actually gets to BT.

Someone else over on uk.telecom suggested adding *3# to the front of the
message to force it to deliver as voice to the BT line (at which point Tom
Baker supposedly takes care of it).

And yes, I have been sad enough to record myself a Little Britain-style
answerphone greeting
