Hi all,
Have ringfenced Orange Talk150/ED50 L2, Text30, GPRS 3. Out of
contract.
Looking at changing Talk150 as crossnet calls are killing me and no
more free 0800, make plenty of 0870 calls hence staying put.
Would like to stay with Orange and keep my numbers, however want a
tariff that would take 0845/0870 out of inclusive minutes and free
0800 if possible, if not out of inclusive minutes.
Wouldn't mind a decent text and GPRS bundle as well.
Current handset is a Nokia 6230, any handset upgrade would have to be
compatible with Nokia's wired CK-7W carkit, not interested in
bluetooth, doesn't matter if I have to change the cradle.
Have no opinion on 3g handsets.
Current spend is around £60 per month.
Suggestions please.
TIA.

Re: Tariff for 0845/0870/0800?
I have ED50 and managed thankfully to get the non-calling card
freephone buddle added, so I can dial 0800 etc at no charge once again.
I can also confirm it's possible to add the freephone buddle to a
line 2 number (as I've tried it)
Getting the freephone bundle added though is another question, it can
be difficult as only a supervisor can authorise it, and some advisers
say its business only, when I was discussing my personal contract,
though my ED50 is on small business which helped.
I would definitely keep your line 2 ED50, try for a freephone buddle,
if not change your line 1 to an o2 OVP plan which AFAIK includes
0845/0870 etc, or change to a cross net Orange plan and use an 07744
dial through i.e. simply-fone.com which is inclusive in your minutes
and you can call 0845/0870 numbers.
Other options are
020 0222 0700 dialthrough for freephone numbers which is a standard
call.
Use qxtelecom.co.uk/qxdial store points using an 0870 on line 2 to line
1, then use an 01 access number to call out for peak mobile/0845/0870
calls, then ED50 for off-peak calls.

Forgot to mention, you would obviously dial direct if you was calling
an orange mobile on line 1.
I don't know a lot about the Talk 150 plan, I presuming its orange and
landlines only from your post, but if it includes 0870 that's even
better (I would keep it for the time being) and you could use
pre-dial.com as well, use the 0870 access number instead for qxdial
(would make your minutes go a lot further)
It's also worth checking out 0844 to mobile access numbers but doing a
test call, some may be billed at 10-12p/min.
Right that's my tips for day :-)

Many thanks Dan.
Not a fan of predialing, so will have a go at getting my L1 tariff
changed to o2 200 on OVP, and try and get my L2 ED50 0800 reinstated.

The "No Charge for freefone" bundle was removed on 1st February, and can no
longer be applied in CSS. If you ain't got it now, you never will have.

So if you were 'given' it when you complained (under 4.3) does that mean
it's for ever?

It was applied for a maximum of 12 months, or until the end of your minimum
term contract, whichever is sooner.
Only Business Solutions, Business Plus and Liberate customers can have
permanently free 0800 now.
