What to do with a GPS receiver?

I've bought a small GPS reciever, about the size of a packet of 10
cigarettes. It works brilliantly with my SE p900 and Wayfinder software. The
only problem I have is keeping the thing on the dashboard! I don't want to
make any permanent attachments, so can anyone suggest how I can keep it in
situ? Would it work for instance behind the sun visor?

Can you buy a holder with a sticky backing or something similar?

TIA

Ray Martin

Get some black self adhesive velcro tape. Stick one side on dashboard and
the other onto the receiver. Easy to remove and the velcro doesn't show
easily. I use the same method to attach the magnetic mounting plate for
my TomTom GPS receiver as I didn't want to use a permanent attachment or
those white sticky pads.

I used Blu-tak with the TomTom bluetooth receiver to fix it right into
the corner between dashboard and windscreen. Left it there all the time
but now moved to a TomTom Go which is only installed in the car when I
need it.

i find that attaching the tomtom go low on the windshield works great
with the jetta (mainly because it has such a large windshield.)

If you go into Poundland you can buy a roll of plastic rubbery non-slip
netting that is used for stopping mats slipping on laminate floors
(surprisingly for £1). Cut a piece out the size of your device, plonk
it on the dashboard, plonk your device on top. Sorted. Of course it
depends how curvey your dashboard is.

I've but some stick-on velcro on mine & put it in thr rear window
shelf. No need to put the mating velcro on the shelf 'cos it's flock
covered cradborard. Never moves and works fine from back there.

Thanks for all the replies, guys!

Never thought of putting it on the back shelf - any marks left behind by the
velcro would be much less obvious there!
