I like the look of the VGSmail SMS java client but, as, sadly,
VGSmail is in decline, I am looking for something else.
I have a 6230i so I am looking for a suitable java client that
integrates well.
With the Vgsmail client it is possible to search the phone book - on
mobisms, for example, that is not possible.
Does anyone know of any suitable user friendly solution?

I use SMSbug.com - works out at less than 3p per text, including GPRS
charges. I don't like the client as much as I did with Vgsmail, but you can
view the delivery reports etc from the client for free (Plus 1KB or so of
GPRS) - you get 5 free messages anyway to try out. It's not clear on the
website, but the tag at the bottom of your text is removed as soon as you
make a payment.
Not sure how well it works on a 6230i but with the K750i it does integrate
with the phone book, in addition to it's own phone book that you can sync
with their servers. Personally I haven't bothered.
Message delivery seems fairly reliable. I maybe loose 1% of messages for no
apparant reason.
