I just got a text from Easy Mobile, apparently they are introducing 3ppm
call charges & 1p texts between Easymobile customers ?
I've been with them since they started & I've been very happy with the
service although the original 6ppm was good while it lasted the current
15ppm at any time to mobiles or landlines may not be the cheapest but it
suits me !
Even more so now as most of my family are with Easy Mobile & with the new
3ppm & 1p texts for my usage it represents excellent value now to me as a
PAYG provider with my usage. :-)

It's only excellent value if you have lots of friend on Easymobile. I
can't think of one. I'm thrilled with the Tesco 'extra' plan, and am
using up the rest of my Easymobile credit before dumping it.

All of my family, all of brothers family now ported across to them and we
are saving a shedload of cash.

Yup, that's also good but it's definitely "horses for courses" I've just had
a look at Tesco but as I don't currently spend as much as £15 pm on calls it
wouldn't really suit me.
It's however, good to see the competition opening up & PAYG customers
getting better choice & decent call rates at last ! :-)

Yes, absolutely. I don't always use £15, but sometimes I go quite a bit
over, and the ideal thing is that _everything_ is inclusive, if you get
my meaning- GPRS, roaming abroad etc.

Yes. If you put having a shiny new phone secondary, I think that PAYG at
the moment is far better value for nearly all customers.

Unless and until they ditch the minimum spend requirement they can go
whistle as far as I'm concerned.

That's my view. Apart from that, I'd be using them. But with it in
place, no chance.

Yes, and with the reduced call/text costs, it could be even harder to
make enough calls/text to not be charged the 75p!.. Thats like 75 texts
they are nicking from you.... Lovely network too.... Only took them two
months to give me the money they owed me when i left.

Or looking at it from another point of view you could actually pay the 75p
charge out of the savings on texts charges alone (excluding any additional
savings now available on calls) if you sent only 38 texts over a three
month period to other Easymobile users.
That's just 1 text every 2 days to other easymobile phones & the 75p charge
is wiped out by the savings you've made.
Add in to this the occasional call to other easymobile users and you're
even better off than before under this deal.
I'll accept it's not for everyone though & definitely "horses for courses,"
but as on average I send more than 1 text every two days to other Easymobile
phones not to mention the calls on top of that, even if I do now end up
paying the 75p charge ( which to date I haven't) it will suit me !

I'd typically send 38 texts over a 20 year period, so that's not a big
saving for me.

The killer there is *to other easymobile phones* - I don't know anybody on
this tariff..! I don't know what tariff anybody I know is on and I don't
care, Tesco is the same for everybody..!
I would also struggle to send 1 message every 2 days to anybody, let alone
someone on a tariff I don't know anybody on..!

I had considered getting my partner an easymobile SIM, so we could keep
in touch very cheaply, but I decided it was more hassle than it's worth.
I've been having no trouble with the 4p a minute call through service
from home, and the 10p a minute Tesco charge from the mobile is fine.
