L7 SLVR good deal?

Found this deal on 'thelink' site:

On the face of it seems a good deal but are there any catches that aren't
obvious?
Free handset and £9.99 a month for 200 minutes anytime?!

Surely the "catch" is that its bound to be a "cashback" deal, where
you have to claim at various points over the 12 months. So you'll be
billed 30 quid per month, and have to claim back the rest so it
effectively works out to 9.99 per month.

Looks like an 18 month contract too which it does not actually mention, even
though there are a couple of asterisks on the page but no info on those
asterisks (typical DSG)

You can get the l7 heavily discounted at most online retailers as I
don't think it has been a very populuar handset. The best deal I know
about as of now being 11 months free line rental (via cashabck) with
200 anytime minutes, 100 texts at £30 per month (12 month contract)
meaning it will cost you just £30 over the 12 months if you don't go
over your allocated minutes and texts.

However the cheaper the deal the more risk there is for you the buyer
with cashback claims (remembering to send the claims, and sticking
rigidly to the terms and conditions etc) so it depends what you want
really - cheaper cashback phone deal or a no hassle 'normal' deal which
equals higher overall cost.
