    Hi All

When I was in the O2 shop the other day I asked about phone mast
locations and the chap there took me straight to a website that
showed the masts as a coloured triangle on a map, and you could
see if they were 3G or only GPRS - most useful.

I rang in today to ask him for the URL - "Oh, he's left" - and
no-one else there knew where this URL was.

    Any ideas, anyone, please?

    I've found the http://www.sitefinder.radio.gov.uk/
site, but it doesn't tell you which masts are which company.

    All the best,

    Paul

There used to be a site for O2 masts. It gave all sorts of details - name,
precise location, bands, elevation, broadcast power etc. etc.

Then one day in autumn 2001 all this data got pulled, and all you can see is
coverage, unless I guess you work for O2

Yes it does - when you've zoomed in to the max, click on the triangles,
and a pop up will tell you who the masts belong to, height, and
    frequencies.

    Thanks, I didn't try that.

Ah, thanks, that might explain it. The guy must have been
accessing their intranet and *not* the internet. That will
explain why O2's technical support denied all knowledge of it.

Indeed, it might also explain why this chap who was in the shop
last Thursday with a "trainee" badge on "no longer works for O2". :-(

    All the best,

    Paul
