I wouldn't have been impressed either. All I do to callers like that is
say, "hang on" and just leave the phone in another room or by the telly. If
it is on a landline, I leave it for hours. If on a mobile I leave it until
the battery runs down. It stops them calling back. The TPS doesn't do much
really, they can't stop companies based abroad.

I find abuse usually puts them off too. If you are feeling humorous, ask
them whets plastic and goes click, before they can say what, put the phone
down. Even though technically it doesn't go click on a mobile.
