Orange Line 2 PAC

Hi,

A few years ago I had a line 2 with Orange and when it was no longer needed
I cancelled it and they allowed me to change it to a PAYG and sent me a new
sim card for it.

I am in a similar situation now, I have a Line 2 which I no longer need for
outgoing calls but want to retain the number for incoming calls without
paying £14 per month for the privilege.

I've asked Orange Customer services and was told that I can't move it onto a
PAYG or get a PAC code as it is a product feature rather than a line, so I
can either continue it or cancel it. Past experience tells me that Orange
staff get these kind of things wrong from time to time, but do any of you
experts know a definitive answer? so I can go back and argue with them.

If I can t/f to PAYG that is fine, or if I can get a PAC that is OK, I can
then make use of the free O2 sims I have

Many thanks in anticipation of your assistance.

Arfie

I successfully got a PAC for a Line 2 a few months back. In fact I
asked for two L2s to be ported, but only moved one of them in the end.
Orange didn't raise any objections and sent me the codes straight
away. (They didn't try to persuade me to stay either).

As you suspected, it's bull. I ported a Line2 on one account last
month and another on Wednesday no problem. Call back and get a more
knowledgeable tubby.

Best of 3 I'm afraid, but you can do it. I moved my Line 2 to Virgin PAYG
just before Christmas.

Thanks for this (and others who posted replies) I finally got this sorted
this week. Conversation went:

Me - I'd like a PAC code for my line 2 please
Tubby - You can't port line 2 numbers
Me - Yes I've been told that before, but I know 2 people who have done it
this month
Tubby - Whats your name number and password
Me - gave it to them
Tubby - OK your PAC will be sent to you in a few minutes by text
Me - You just told me I cant have one
Tubby - Well we can issue one but no other networks will take them
Me - I'll take my chances, cheers

That is literally how it went, no arguments, just "you can't" - "yes I
can" - "OK" 2 mins later I have the PAC code. Why must we go through this
kind of thing? 10 years I've been with them and I'm keeping my line 1 with
them anyway.

Anyway, rant over and thanks once again for your advice to push them.
