How can I ulock a 6230i, currently over my 12month contract.

apologies, I was mixing it up with the later models that cannot be code
unlocked

you need the IMEI and original network

There may be free calculators to unlock it on the net. Alternatively,
some websites will unlock it for a small fee

That doesn't have the 6230i on the drop down list, do you select it as
a 6230 instead ? (other "i" variants are listed).

Oops sorry. I've used that site a few times but not for a 6230i and didn't
notice it was missing. I wouldn't risk trying the 6230 code unless you have
confirmation the codes are the same.

www.trycktill.com which someone has suggested does seem to have it though -
I had to click on Ovrig Upplasning before I could see a language flag though

take the sim out first, power it on then enter the codes as shown by the
calc, *#a_load_of_numbers#7
From personal experience I normally do Code 7 first, others do code 5 first.
simple as that. JUST MAKE SURE you input the correct imei (*#06#) and
network into the calc otherwise your unlock code will be wrong & you only
get 5 attempts to input it. you then would have to have it unlocked by a
cable/box solution..

no - at the end of the code, the screen changes to SIM restriction off,
or similar

No - will do automatically

Remember the P and w are not the "usual" p and w symbols, you get them by
holding (or repeatably pushing) the * and # keys - I forget which
