I went to the T Mobile shop yesterday to get a new phone & contract.

During the credit check, it delined my contract with them. I know I have
    very clean credit check.

The only thing I can think of is that we're going through of purchasing a
house. But we only started the ball rolling just last week. So that mean we
haven't even started to pay anything at all!

Does T Mobile have a strict credit check or is there anything else I need to
    be aware of?

    Thanks,

Getting a mortgage would not affect your credit rating adversely and I
seriously doubt the data could have got to the credit agency that quickly.
It depends on each companies' credit scoring criteria but not being on the
electoral roll sometimes loses a lot of points. If you have moved recently
or frequently in a relatively short space of time and your accounts are
associated with several addresses this can also be bad (especially if they
have not been updated to match your current address). Accounts that have
been inactive for a long time can sometimes be counted as negative (again
especially if still registered anywhere other than your current address).
It could be several of these things adding up or alternatively *too little*
credit history. Best check with someone like Experian. It is free to get
the information for 30 days via their website.

Try at the start of the month - we sign up businesses to T-Mobile and
they fly through in the first two weeks. We get more and more problems
in the third week of the month. After the 25th of the month we have so
many come back as failed credit that we start to leave them for next
    month.

Guess they connect their target during the first couple of weeks and
can then be a bit more choosy at the end of the month.

What was the credit rating of the previous owners of the house, some credit
check agencies register bad debts to a property, instead of a person.

It's a simple case of writing to the main credit agencies, Equifax and
Experian and telling them you want to disassociate these other persons.

Maybe you gave them incorrect information. Saying I was a full time
student got me rejected, but the next day telling them I worked part
time (also true) got me accepted. This wasn't with t-mobile, but it
might be the same sort of thing.

I bought two phones from a T Mobile store on Friday. I said I would be
needing another two before the end of the month and was told it wouldn't be
    a problem.

Applied on line today, and was immediately turned down!! Go figure!!

I returned four new Orange phones just last week, all of which had been
supplied despite me cancelling them well before despatch :-().

I am not a happy bunny, and seriously considering my options.

Something else, it could be that you have had your record at the
credit agencies "touched" several times in the past few months. Each
"touch" registers and if there are too many (I don't know how many are
too many) you are likely to fail credit checks.

Its only if you make an application for credit that he footprint gets
logged. It depends on the criteria of the person doing the credit check as
to how many footprints = bad.
