Orange out here texts getting charged!

Notice that both my Orange Out here accounts are charging 12p per message
for texts (rather than the 5 free a day!) No point ringing Orange yet as
they won't have the details of calls for a few days.

Just thought I'd warn some on here.

Not just "out here". My latest contract bill contains some charged texts
which should have come out of last month's inclusive texts...

Typical! After a long period thinking they had wormed their way out of the
Out Here free for life promise (i was charged for texts for a long time and
thought it was over), I discovered it was still operational (thanks to this
NG). Since then I have eagerly used my 5 free texts......... Yes, I've been
charged recently too. Grrrr.

I just noticed that as well but had not yet worked up the energy to
complain. So far, I have only checked one of two Out Here SIMs.

complain. So far, I have only checked one of two Out Here SIMs.

Seem back tobeing free now. Just sent one and wasn't charged.

WTF is it with Orange and these orig Out Here sims, do they routinely
try to charge them to see if anyone complains. I must imagine that a
lot of the orig Out Here sims have been lost or thrown away by now, are
they hoping that one day so few will be left that nobody cares when
they try to breach the orig (5 free txts for life) conditions.

Well my Original Out Here SIMs have indeed gone but I upgraded my phone last
year and my wifes phone this year and the Orange Out Here stays on the
account.

If people upgrade they just need to ensure that the Out Here Package remains
on the account.

I've just checked the balance on my O/H SIM (which is only ever used for
SMS and never for voice calls) and the balance is down by 11p rather than
12p. I haven't used it in a fortnight.

I know one thing, I have no intention of spending 25p to find out why I've
lost 11p..!

Same here, just sent one and it was free. I still don't know where my 11p
has gone though..!

Slightly OT, has anyone else lost email alerts for the last couple of
days..?

Make sure your smsc number hasn't been changed. Mine was and it took a few
texts to realise this
But if you do a seach through the archives you will find the right no. It
is very similar to the "charging" one

Same here, free again.

I wonder whether it is a deliberate plot to kill off Out Here or just
incompetence.

I still have not checked my other Out Here SIM.

Which mine is set to, and always has been, even when I was getting charged
the last time this happened.
