Hi,
I recently had my samsung phone unlocked. Ever since then, the battery life
has been shortened considerably. It used to last for whole week but now I
have to charge it roughly every three days.
Can anyone point me in the right direction please? Are there any codes
etc.. I can enter to increase the battery life again.
Thanks in advance.
regards.

Very unlikely to have been the unlocking that did it. Are you sure you
haven't put in a different sim card since it was unlocked? That might
make a big difference to battery life, particularly if it is a 900MHz
network with poor coverage or one with several cells to switch
between.

Re: samsung sgh-z140
Yes I am using a different sim card now.
It was originally a vodafone sim but is now orange.
I used to have an old phone for orange which used to have really good
coverage in my area.
even with the vodafone sim, the coverage is really good.
I have been doing some searching on the web for some time now and came
across a forum where someone posted a similar problem with a samsung phone
that was unlocked.
Unfortunately I can't remember the forum and haven't managed to find the
article since.
I suspect it might be to do with the method used to unlock the phone a it
may have enabled EFR or some other feature which is draining the battery
much more quickly.
