Battery issues

My Nokia 3230 is just over a year old now (1 year and 2 days to be exact).
I'm starting to have problems with it retaining charge. The battery was
completely flat on Saturday so I put it on charge for about 5 hours, and
overnight on Sunday the battery was flat again.

During that time I'd made one 3 minute phone call and sent about 3 text
messages. Hardly a stress on the battery and normally it would last at least
3 days before the battery indicator even got to half way.

I'm not keen on buying a new battery as I'm planning to replace this phone
in 2 or 3 months time.

Are there other issues I should be aware of that would shorten the battery
life?

Both off. On other occasions I've left bluetooth on and it has only had a
marginal effect on battery life.

If it's that bad you have two choices mate:

a) put up with it
b) get a new battery

may be able to pick one up from ebay for £5?

If you've still got a normal signal level indication, then it sounds
like you're right and it's the battery. A quick Google found one for a

What is your normal charging routine..? Do you regularly let the battery
run down to the low battery warning or do you constantly top up..?
Although Lithium-Ion batteries are tolerant of short topups, unlike the
older Ni-Cd and Ni-Mh types, it is still a good idea to let them run down
occasionally, say once a month or so.

Incidentally, why are you planning to replace a phone that is only a year
old..? What's wrong with it..?

I usually top up when the battery is showing approx 1/3rd full. However I
also use TomTom on my phone which requires it to be on charge at the same
time that it is in use.

Well the battery is failing for starters! Plus the phone has crashed quite a
lot recently. Plus there are better phones on the market now. However I'm
hoping to stick with the 3230 for a little while yet.
