I am on contract with Vodafone, and regularly get unsolicited MMS messaged
claiming to be from Vodafone Live on 9774. I never open them just in case.
How can I stop these coming in? And are they genuine?

Re: Unsolicited MMS from Vodafone Live
These are genuine marketing messages from Vodafone. If you want to stop
any more of them, you can reply to the message with the words 'STOP
SMS'. To stop all marketing correspondence you could e mail Vodafone
via the web form at www.vodafone.co.uk/contactus and they'll remove
you from the mailing lists. This will stop all marketing via text
messages, mail, e mail and multimedia messages.

Probably adverts or something. I doubt they have cost you anything
unless you also get a suspicious text at about the same time.

Not yet, but if I roam abroad, they will cost me as when roaming you pay the
GPRS charges for incomming MMS.

I doubt that you would receive these abroad!
Just text "STOP MMS" to 9774

Really? You don't on Orange.
MMS uses a separate APN from "internet" GPRS. Have you actually been
charged for this or are you just speculating?

I have been charged for genuine MMS in the past when roaming on Vodafone so
assume it's the same for spam.
