From an earlier thread...
I had two phones on O2 200 at £30/month each, and rang the cancellation
line at CPW. I was told they had a special offer on to retain customers,
and were offering 400 minutes FREE for 12 months - but no texts - these
could be bought as "bolt-ons"
This morning, both mobiles involved (me / missus) were sent a text
message from CPW to say we were being moved to O2 Leisure 400 as of 1st
June at a cost of £8.50 per month...
I'm not *that* bothered about the cost, seeing as its essentially a
third of what I was paying, but it seems like sharp practice to charge
for something they specifically said was free - by two different people,
one on Friday, and one on Monday.
Has anyone else come across this, or got any thoughts ? (I wasn't able
to get hold of them tonight to find out what they were playing at)
TIA :-}

Bear in mind that O2's "Leisure" tariffs are Off Peak only......

Just a heads-up in case you didn't know, I /think/ the Leisure 400 tariff
will be off-peak minutes only, whereas your old tariff will have been 200
anytime minutes.

£8.50 per month sounds a good deal provided it's not just for 1 year.
I would like something like that but most of the places I go to seem to get
a crap signal from O2 so I use Orange.
Regards Mike.

Yeah, that shouldn`t be a particular problem though - it hardly gets any
use (I think I manage 15 minutes per month max, and about 15 texts) - it
sees about 20 seconds of use 3 days a week to tell the missus i`m
outside her office waiting to pick her up :-}

aha... it all becomes clear - just had a letter in the post to say they
would randomly credit £100 to my account which equates to a years' worth
of monthly payments.
The only thing that wasn't specified was that it was a new 12 month
contract (which isn't really an issue either)
Pity they still haven't sent any details about the full tariff rates for
it though - slightly miffed about that, as I haven't been able to find a
full breakdown anywhere.

I was just about to reply that it would be by credit. I also took up
the offer although i dont use the sim card but it may come in handy at
the end of 12 months to get an upgraded handset.
