I had a call this morning on my mobile from 01792 474700, think they
said they were from Communications Direct asking about my Voda contract
    which is due to expire.

Searching this group shows the number is only a digit off Time2Talk
    also near Swansea.

Told them to go away. Shows how cr@p the information they have is, my
number is ex-Voda, ported to Virgin then Orange now O2 and the contract
    runs March-March.

Thanks to Phones4U for selling on out of date ex-customer info!

probably not - there seem to be databases available somewhere of
approximate issue dates of blocks of numbers

Easy way to deal with nuisance sales calls - leave the phone by the
television or radio until the battery goes flat! They don't often call
back. I used to do that to NTL on a landline.

^^^ Some good tips there! I had the same problem, i had 5 missed calls
from them just yesterday, i checked out the number on a phone code
website i use which told me the number was from Swansea, then i checked
Google, which is when this message came up.

    I didn't answer the phone though, if it's a number i don't recognise,
as this was, i tend to ignore it! If it's important and someone who
knows me, they'll either ring my landline or leave a message, text me
    etc.

Someone else i know had the same problem a while ago, this company kept
calling and asking if he wanted to switch contracts, despite a firm and
resounding NO, and him asking them to remove him from their list of
'To-do', he got harrassed several times over before they finally gave
    up and got the hint.

I think i'll keep ignoring that 01792 number (unless DVLA want me for
    something!) ;-)

    Hi there

I have had 4 or so calls over the last week from the same number - I
haven't picked up but they keep calling and won't leave a message. I
took a call from this number a few moths ago with the same experience
as you - I haven't been a vodafone customer in nearly 2 years!

Can you get Telephone preference service for mobiles does anyone know?

I’m trying to pull together a group of people to do a group complaint
against Communications Direct for cold-calling, so please email me at
[email protected] if you have an O2 contract and were
    contacted by them. Thanks!
