3 network- sales call to mobile phone

Hi all,
Yesterday i received a call at 4:03pm from a number that didnt show on
my phone.
I had answered it and a person introducing himself as from the 3
network telling me that he was aware that i spend £40 and £60 per
month on topping up my mobile and would i like a free phone on the 3
network with 400 x net minutes for £22.50p per month.
I said that u are calling me on an o2 pre-pay mobile which i only had
for 2 weeks and how did he obtain my number...but the question was not
answered.
After a few minutes of this person not taking no for an answer and
trying to hard sell me what i didnt want, i told him thankyou very much
for your phone call but on this occasion you have unsuccessful with
your sale....i then turned my phone off.
A while later i turned on my phone only to get an an answer phone
message alert to my phone and to call 901....i was horrified at the
voice message of the same persons voice calling me all sorts of
offensive names and what he would like to do to me if i ever turned
down good offers like that ever again.ect..also saying f*ckyou very
much and has promised to stay in contact with me as he put it.. Why the
heck any salesperson would leave a message like that on anyones phone
is totally beyond belief.
Anyone else get 3 network sales calls to thier mobiles offering them
400 min of £22.50 ect...ect...
How do i take it further as the number was not available to meat time
of calling.
kind regards..
paul

Contact the police - they should be able to follow it up, and phone
records are, afaik readily available to them.

It might also be worth contacting your own network provider, as they
might have contact details for the abuse departments of the other
networks.

Do you think 3 have got one?

They'll fine one when you give them a crime number after reporting it to
the police...

Re: 3 network- sales call to mobile phone

I will contact o2 and i still have the recorded message.
Someone said if you buy ringtones, wallpaper ect of the internet that
it possible for the sales people to obtain the mobile number..i
unfortunately have done this once and have already registered my number
with the TPS.
Maybe it was a company that just sells different mobile networks line
rental themselves and not directly comming from 3 network as they
stated?

I think that is far more likely. 3 may not be the best network in the
world, but I find it hard to believe even they would resort to that sort of
behaviour. It is far more likely that is was some very dubious dealer
trying their best to get you to agree to a contract so they could get a nice
subsidy from that network.

I hope you get to the bottom of it anyway - that sort of behaviour is
sickening

Of course it is not 3. I'm surprised anyone might have thought it was.

One of these dealers called me from a Virgin phone, and others are
setting up sales call centres in other European countries

Why should you be surprised? These companies aren't allowed to say they're
*from* three.
