Hi
In my latest statement from Orange they have notified me that from 1st
July they are going to start charging £1.50 for itemised billing (I'm
on Talk Time 200), but I have given the option of opting out and
receiving un-itemised bills. Does this constitute a change in the terms
and conditions that would allow me to end the contract early with no
penalty?
I seem to remember T-Mobile doing this a few years ago and quite a few
people saw it as a loophole to get out of their contracts.
thanks in advance

I'd imagine Orange would class itemised billing as an "Orange Additional
Service" which allows them to "change, suspend or withdraw part or all
of any Orange Additional Service on giving reasonable notice."

I'm surprised they haven't charged me for this on my now defunct
account. It didn't stop the criminals charging me for another service
when the account was already well and truly closed.

Just checked my account online, and they've refunded it directly. Colour
me amazed!

Re: Orange charging for itemised billing
Wow, Orange charging for Itemised billing, this is a first for what was so
much a good and cutting edge phone operator back in the 1990's. Will they
still offer free itemised billing for those who can view their bills online
(if this is an option)?
I hear of a lot of people these days who have been with Orange and are
porting out due to CS issues and rising prices etc.

Re: Orange charging for itemised billing
I thought you could only view the PDF of the actual paper bill produced,
so if you don't have itemised billing on your paper copy, you won't see
it on your online copy.

I've just had a contract with no itemised billing finish with Orange
and I can confirm that the PDFs showed full details.
The fact that I could only view the PDF with Internet Explorer on
Windows, which definitely didn't use to be the case, is another matter
entirely.

How many people read their bills from front to back? I don't, and mine is 39
pages long each month! (And although my IB option is free, I choose to view
mine at work online)
All Orange are doing are trying to switch people to online itemisation,
which has a positive environmental impact. The only way to do this is levy a
charge, hopefully it will put people off paying for IB, rather than just
giving them an option.
"Do you want IB? Is it free? Yes! Well, if it's free......"
I think it's a good thing :-)

We have a lot of people in our shop who left for other networks like O2 and
Three who want to come back as they can't stand their current network. The
grass is not always greener, you know.

It's a great idea. The trouble is that the Orange website is
hopelessly unreliable.

Re: Orange charging for itemised billing
I dropped my package from Premier 600 to a "Core Plan 35" with 200
minutes.
Imagine my suprise when I get my bill this month where I have been
charged 1p for every SMS delivery receipt. I raised this with them and
its part of their Core Plan tariff. After pointing out that they had
not advised me of this at the point of change I got the 1ps refunded
and turned off the receipt requests.
Are Orange really so screwed over now that they have to scrape the
barrel like this?
In addition I cancelled my Orange TV service in January, they know its
cancelled according to the system, but they keep charging me for it
every month. So for the last six months I have had to ring up to get a
credit back on the account. every time the tubby promises to send it
through to billing integrity to resolve the problem, promises of they
will ring me to investigate further, which never materialise.
I've been with Orange since 1996, and its now a COMPLETE crock of
shíte! (Well ever since france Telecom got their hands on it)!

I'm not so sure about that. if they cared about the environmental
impact they could stop sending me a paper bill altogether. And stop
sending me the crappy magazine they send regularly.
If all they're going to send is the equivalent of the front page why
not just send me a text each month.
Online bills would be ok but they only make availalbe the last 3 months
- that's not enough for me to do my expenses, i could do with 12
months.
