No, he wants to send an *email* and have it arrive as an SMS message.
I agree that using an SMS sending site would be easiest, but it isn't what
he asked.

The O2 site looks good thank you! I think the email stuff is beyond
her, but she'd appreciate receiving the odd message from me even if she
couldn't respond. Thanks for your help.

Re: can I email a tesco mobile phone?
Hi there
I am in Pakistan and using the email on my mobile ie
[email protected] for example i am using Ufone and
its network code is 0333 and my phone Number is 5146461 so the email address
is [email protected] and believe me it does really work for me.

Re: can I email a tesco mobile phone?
Dear Ivor
Knowledge and information does not need boundaries and limitations. I wanna
help his who requested to get the email on mobile phone n I have just given
him an idea. Furthermore, It seems that Pakistan is much more advanced in
technology than UK because you people don't have email on your mobile phone
yet. Is not it like that ?

No idea, but at least we know how to post on newsgroups (well most of us
do).
I don't particularly want email on my phone anyway, I use my phone to make
phone calls (remember speaking to people with your voice..?!)
Ivor (who is not "dear" to anybody except perhaps my mother and then only
when she's in a good mood..!)
