I've been with Orange since 1996 and since they keep wishing to drive
me and other customers away with removing the extras, charging for SMS
delivery reports etc etc, I have been downgrading my tariff (until the
    contract ends) whilst enjoying 3!

Question is, can I change my tariff to OVP Virgin until it runs out?
Their website site that OVP Virgin is no longer available for new
connections. Do they mean a new customer or anyone cannot move to OVP
    Virgin now?

    Thanks

OVP Virgin is ring fenced. This means that you cannot change to this
tariff, and once you've moved away from it, you can't get back.

Only way of getting it now I understand is to 'buy' a OVP Virgin SIM off
someone who already has one. I've no idea though how you transfer the
ownership in Orange's eyes, or if you can.

Delivery reports are only chargeable if you are on one of the new animal
packages. ALl other tarrifs are unaffected.

Blimey! I haven't been here for a long time since ditching Ornage, but
that really does sound desparate from O's part - i.e. charging for
anything they can, left right and centre!

I was on Orange Premier 600, and wanted to go for a lower tariff. I
got put on one of their Core Plans, as I did not wish to renew my
contract and go on one of their wonderful Animal plans. It seems the
Core Plans also have this charge for SMS del. reports as well.

I think the 02 100 OVP might be the next move!

They made some improvements to the tariff range and it had to be
financed from somewhere. All they're doing is robbing peter to pay paul.
Less than 25% of customers actually use delivery reports.

Yes, sorry - the core plans are also subject to the new charging
    structure and rollover rules etc.

Depends on what your definition of "improvements" is. Wrecking what was
once the best mobile network in the country and driving away a vast
proportion of its customers doesn't qualify IMHO. I don't know about
robbing Peter, they were certainly robbing me until I left.

I do use delivery reports, BTW.

What's a 'core' plan. Just taken out a Web Exclusive Plan and assume that
delivery reports on here are free????

Well it's quite simple in this case really. They made the tariffs have
more inclusive value than they did before. More minutes in most cases,
more texts, inclusive insurance on racoon / panther etc.

Driving away? Maybe some left, but more have joined so it matters not
    really.

Core Plans are a very basic range of tariffs which exist for people who
want to downgrade from animal tariffs or for people on legacy tariffs
who want to change tariff without signing a new contract. If you take
the current range of animal tariffs and strip them down to just the
anytime and network minutes, then you have your core range.

As for the web plans and delivery report charging I don't know. Since we
don't sell them in the shop it's not really a priority. I could easily
find out, but then so could you :-)
