Nokia PC Suite synchronizing edited contacts

I use PC Suite to synchronise contacts in Outlook and Nokia - works fine
except when I edit a contact on either the PC or phone - synchronize does
not update the contact information, instead it just says 'found xx
matches' - so i.e. I add a new email address to a contact on the phone, this
does not get added to the PC. Have checked through the settings. Is this
normal? I thought synchronising meant contacts would be identical on PC and
phone, not much good if they're different!

What have you checked on your settings?
You should check in the advanced settings which direction the synchronisation is copying in - it could be set to only copy from PC to phone rather than in both directions or from the phone to the PC.

Thanks for the reply - it set to update in both directions. If I've added a
new contact to either the phone or the PC it does get added to the other
device - but not changes to a contact. Thought I would delete a contact on
the phone so it got sent the updated version, but sychronize then deletes it
from the PC too! (Well I guess that is synchronisation)

The other thing to check is what it is set to do if there is a conflict i.e.the conflict direction - I.e is it giving preference to PC or mobile - this could explain why it deletes when you do this -
I have Nokia PC suite and it does update changes to contacts so it is not just how synchronisation works
