Recently for no apparent reason I have started to get a daily 7pm SMS
from 5853, Orange Email Manager.
Does anyone know how to stop these messages? I think I am being charged
5p for them and they are completely pointless because I never use my
orange.net email address.
So far I have tried with no success:
1. turning off email notification at orange.net
2. turning off email notification orange world via wap
3. asking orange to delete my orange.net account
4. asking orange cs to stop sending them, which either results in 'text
stop all to 5853' or 'we don't deal with email here'
What else can I try?
Thanks.

Been getting them to my payg phone and they are free (although they weren't
a few months ago when they first revamped the system)

Turning them off on the website worked for me, no idea why it didn't for
you, unless the site has gone pear shaped yet again.

Have you specifically followed the links for "Email Manager" > "Email
alerts" as opposed to "Orange Email" > "Email alerts"?

In addition to point 1, I'm pretty sure this only stops the "per message"
notifications and not the daily summaries.

This wouldn't make any difference, "Orange.net" is a different account from
anything stored in "Email manager", even though you access them through the
same site.

Things may have changed in the time I've been out of CS, but I don't believe
the guys on 150/156 have any more access to O.Net than you and I...

Re: Orange Email Manager SMS
Thanks for your advice.
My orange.net login (including email manager) has now been deleted, the
guy who deleted my account admitted that there was a known general
fault with the system and they were looking into it. No timescale for
getting it resolved though.
