PAC Code

I want to upgrade my phone to a K800i on o2. I've been told that itl be
£49.99 which is silly considering they are giving them away to new
customers.

I asked for my PAC in an attempt at being asked to stay but they wouldnt
budge and I got my PAC.

So, two questions

1) If I cancel can I just sign up again to o2 and give them my existing o2
pac code and keep my number?

2) If I don't use the PAC and can get them to come round in the o2 shop will
it just expire and my contract remain?

Thanks

Firstly I'd give it a couple of days and see if they give you a call to
"discuss" the reasons you want to leave, you'll more than likely find
that if they do you can get the deal you want.

In answer to your question, the very basic answers are 1) No and 2)
Yes.

PAC codes are used to transfer between operators, so you could
"transfer" within the same company.

The PAC code only lasts for I believe 28 days, so if you haven't used
it by then it just expires and you carry on as you are now with the
same deal.

Hope this helps.

DON'T CANCEL!

If you cancel your contract, your PAC will be useless and you will lose
your number. The PAC is used instead of cancelling, and if you don't use
it then you will stay with your current provider. If you do use your PAC
then most providers will take the date of issue as the start of your 30
days notice for billing purposes.

If you really want to sign up to O2 as a new customer but keep your
existing number then you will have to use your PAC to transfer to a
different provider, then get another PAC issued by that provider to
transfer back to O2. You will have to wait for the first PAC to expire
before you can be issued another one.

Given the current state of their customer service and billing, I doubt
they consider hanging on to any of their customers, quite frankly.

I recently had te same problem, have moved the number to Tesco mobile
as they run on the O2 network so I know the reception is the same. In a
week or so I will move the number back to O2.
