My K750i - purchased at the end of May - landed on the driveway
today, and the screen has a small vertical crack at the top. I'll be
digging out the paperwork just in case it included some kind of
insurance, but I don't think it did. Right now the crack isn't a big
deal - it doesn't interfere with the visibility of the display or
anything. Is it likely to get bigger (like windscreens do)? Is it
going to cause any problems (I can't think how, but I thought I'd
ask)? And if I decide to get it repaired, what kind of price should I
expect to pay - and where should I take it?
(Also - FS: one very active four-year-old. Guess who was responsible
for today's mishap!)

Can't say, but four year olds do get bigger.
Keep the kid, dump the phone. Costs more but it's better.

send it to SE repair centre, they will assess repair and provide a written
quote and then try your house insurance.

Yeah, I know. He's the fourth. I swear the other three weren't like
this at his age!

Lasts longer too ;-)

They look like the whole display - the only bit of mine that's
cracked is the clear plastic bit covering the display. I take it I'd
need to replace the whole thing?

The first link is just the plastic bit that covers the display. So I'd
suggest you just need that.

Ah, apologies. I didn't look carefully enough. (Or carefully at all!)
How difficult would it be to replace it? Is it something I could do
myself?
Thanks to all who've replied :-)

Very easy. Have a look at the following, it's very simple in comparison to
some phones out there:

That's excellent - thank you!
I'm glad I don't have to do the whole thing he describes though ;-)
Thanks to all who've responded - your replies have been very helpful,
and much appreciated. Might not have to sell the 4yo after all now
;-)
