cancelling Orange contract

I started my (12 month) contract 26/7/05.
Do I have to wait until 25/7/06 to cancel or can I do it now (can I get
a pac code now) ?

I'm doing the same thing with O2 and I've requested my PAC code which I
understand is my 28 day notice to possibly port my number (and possibly
terminate my contract). An long as the port does not actually happen before
25/7 you should be ok. But I might be totally wrong :-)

You can get your PAC now. IF you use the PAC (note the IF) then your 30
day notice period will be started on the date you requested the PAC.
Whatever happens, you will pay for the 30 days notice airtime - so best
to put the PAC into your new network as late as possible - approx 20
days after you request it, otherwise you're paying for airtime you're
not able to use.
