Has anyone managed to get email working on a K800i?

I've had email working fine on my K750 for ages. When I received my k800i upgrade, it came
with a new 3g sim. Since I've had this activated and have tried to use email on the new
phone, incoming mail seems fine, but if I try and send all I get is incorrect username or
password. Unfortunately I didn't try it with the old sim in the new phone to see if that
worked, and the old one is now inactive. I've tried checking all the settings, contacting
O2 by phone and email but none of it is proving any use! THe latest answer from o2 is that
it's a phone problem and they can't help so I should contact the phone manufacturer.

I'm running out of ideas and patience! Can anyone help?

I've tried using the mobile web settings that came preinstalled on the phone, and adding
them in again using the settings o2 gave me. The mobile web username and password are set
to o2web/password which is (at least according to o2) correct.

Can anybody help? Please? Before I go mad...

I also had this problem, I think you'l find if you go into advanced settings
on the email settings menu and put your username and password in the
outgoing fields aswell then it will work.

That's strange, if you're on contract with o2, then it shouldn't require a
username and password to use the outgoing SMTP server, I know right now my
handset doesn't send one. Perhaps it's changed for certain IP ranges or
    something.

    THanks Neil,

I tried that but still no luck. 'o2web' and 'password' for the username and password right?

on my k750 it only required the userame and password in the mobile web settings, not the
actual email settings. I've had several email exchanges with O2 now and it's getting
    beyond a joke!

Assuming your using o2 email, the username is [email protected] and the
same password you use to login to o2.

Thats in the Messaging > Email > Settings menu and then in the > Advanced
    Settings menu too.

Server should be mail.o2.co.uk for incoming and smtp.o2.co.uk for outgoing

Oooo you absolute star. All the feedback from O2 said I had to put the mobile web username
and password in the advanced settings too, not my actual website login and pass. I'm not
using the O2 service for incoming mail, that's my own domain mail, but it seems that we do
need the proper login and password for the outgoing o2 mail server now.

Who cares. It's working now. THANK YOU
