Received my Three N70 today, ordered through the Three website. Called
Three customer services by selecting option three on 0800 358 9571 to
find out why it had not been activated and they said the dealer had
failed to complete some of the details, and that it would be
escalated. Tried the website again and couldn't find the dealers
details so tried Option 1 on 0800 358 9571. Got through to someone in
the UK and they gave me another 0870 number which put me through to
Dialaphone. At the same time while speaking to dialaphone, a
supervisor called me back to say the phone was bought from Dialaphone
and I needed to contact them. Dialaphone said they would sort out the
activation and post copies of the contract offer which were missing
    from the package.

Only qualm with the refurbished phone (which looks like new) is that
no memory card is included. After checking the website, no memory card
is mentioned. Can someone tell me which type of memory I need for this
phone? I have a Sandisk 'memory stick pro duo' 256MB card from my
aging K750i, would that be compatible?

    IIRC N70 takes only RS-DV-MMC.

I have read this several times and I'm still trying to work out how it
relates to good customer service from Three.
You say that you ordered the phone from Three's website, and then when
you had a problem, all they did was to advise you to contact who you
purchased the phone from, and then gave you a 10p a minute number to
dial to sort out a problem that should not have occurred in the first
    place.

Well, the point of my post is to say that, 3 Customer Services in
Bombay did understand exactly what the problem was and actually called
back to resolve it. They were very polite and understood my fastly
    spoken English quite well.

The problem occurred on the Dialaphone (UK) end of the equation.

I remember when Three opened up a lot of people had problems in
getting understood and also understanding the Customer Services. It
seems that a few years of English practice has done them well.

Importantly, Three answer their calls much quicker then Orange.

    Don't know about cheap.

I've been buying mine from http://www.mobymemory.com/ as I chose
    compatibly over cost.

Pretty sure Dialaphone call center is in India, but yes 3 is better in
my experience. Dialaphone are not terrible though and will pay the
redemptions but you must get *all* the bills to them by the due date.
they have a business model that relies on a lot of people failing to
    do that.
