    Hi,

Right basically, got my laptop, got my bluetooth thing, got my 6230i. The 2
communicate fine other bluetooth - but when I connect to the internet
through the phone using *99# and the internal GPRS moderm, it doesn't work.
It connects OK, but nothing will load or respond.

Phone has the newest software, computer is Windows XP Corp SP2.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

Hmmm I used to get a similar problem with the 6230 and my toshiba
laptop. The bluetooth was too slow to handle the connection. it was
resolved by using a datacable instead. Worth a go?

Shouldn't think Bluetooth speed would be a problem. It's a lot faster than
    GPRS.

My laptop works fine via BT through my Nokia 6021 using Orange's £4/month
GPRS offering [this gets you 4MB]. My suggestion would be to download and
install Nokia PC Suite on the laptop. If you then click the option 'Connect
to the Internet' it sets up the whole thing for you. (IYou just have to
select from a list of service providers). I found this to be much easier
and reliable than trying to enter the details (*99# etc) manually.

It sets up an entry in Network Connections called 'Nokia Phone Bluetooth
Modem'. I made a link to this on the desktop and all I have to do to go on
line via the phone is click the link.

PC Suite also does a good job of synchonising my phone to Outlook Contacts
and Calendar. I keep a special directory under Contacts just for Phone
    Contacts and sync to this.

    Suggestions:

    1. Make sure you turn off Windows Update, virus updates, and any other
auto-download items before you go on-line with GPRS as you can run up big
    bills very quickly.
    2. Set your email software to not download emails bigger than say 20k. (In
Outlook you do it via Tools/Options/Mail Delivery). [I got stung for £35
for an unsuccessful download of a massive email that someone sent me while I
    was on holiday in France].
    3. Install Netmeter (free from http://readerror.gmxhome.de/). [This saved
me from an even bigger bill - see previous item - because I'd set the
download alarm to 4MB so when I realised my bank account was draining
rapidly I stopped the download. I still felt I'd been mugged :-(] .
    4. Use Opera browser instead of IE on the PC. You can then easily tell it
to not download pictures when you're on GPRS.

    Good luck,
