Respect to T-mobile

I signed up with T-mobile for a V3 on £15 a month contract.

No to poor reception at home (varyingwith time of day, weather), none at
all in holiday cottage in Wales.

Was outside cooling off period by the time I realised all this. Loved
phone, loved contract, hated coverage.

Wrote to customer services. Very nice man asked for postcodes of home
and holiday cottage to see if new transmitters planned. Same man rang
again to say sorry, couldn't provide service I was paying for, please
return phone. Same man rang again after few days because I hadn't got a
round tuit.

Today received final bill and full refund of all that I'd paid including
the (few) successful calls!

Major respect for excellent customer service. Now have Vodafone V3i for
£16 a month.

Derek, where in Wales is the holiday cottage out of interest? A big problem
in Wales, both for TV and mobile phones, are the numerous mountains and
valleys. You can literally be standing in one place and have no signal, walk
5 yards up or down a hill and you have one. I am curious as I live in Wales
and want to get a gauge of where it was you were not having the signal as I
am considering moving from Orange.

Thanks,

J.

Hi.

You could also check the T-Mobile coverage checker on their website.
You can find it at: http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/coverage (then click on
'Check your coverage now').

Another useful website you could have a look at is:
http://www.sitefinder.radio.gov.uk

Click 'Find GB Site' on the left hand side and then you can enter your
postcode, street name or town. This website shows all the mobile phone
masts in the country and where they are situated. They are shown as a
blue triangle. By using this, you could see if there are any T-Mobile
masts near where you live which may give you a better idea about how
your coverage may be.

Hope this helps.

I'm in the Rhondda and the best SPs for coverage (IME) are Vodafone and
Orange
there's no signal with O2, Tmobile or any of their resellers at my home, but
then I can't get C4, C5 or Freeview either... time to move me thinks (c;

A cottage about 2 miles north of Llanfairpwll on Yr Ynys. I should say
that my O2 payg and my m8's Vdoafone worked perfectly in the same
location! Trouble also on the Welsh Highland Railway where I am a
volunteer - coverage only in Caernarfon but to be fair, no one network
covers all 12 miles (Guards have to have two or three SIMS).

Thanks Derek. I tend to agree with SoWeezy - Orange and Vodafone seem the be
about the best of the bunch in Wales IMPO.
