Nokia 6680 problem on Orange

I am being driven mad by this phone. It displays a variable but strong
signal showing I am connected to Orange, but will not make or receive calls
unless I reboot. Will not advise of any missed calls either. Have got three
other phones in the household that don't have this problem but the Orange
say the problem is related to the local transmitter being worked on. Have
been having this problem for months. Customer service is rubbish. Any ideas
or suggestions?

Lock it to GSM-only mode and see if the problem goes away.

Re: Nokia 6680 problem on Orange

Thanks, but tried this about four weeks ago on the advice of Orange. The
quote was from the customer call centre was that I live in a poor area for
3G so I should keep it on GSM anyway!!??

Didn't work, still got the same problem!

If you are in a weak area then it will be trying to hop between 3G and
2G, so I would keep it on GSM mode when at home.

Sorry to hear that. Maybe you should get your phone serviced. Nokia have
just released home-flashing but I don't know if the 6680 is supported
yet, I haven't investigated it.

Re: Nokia 6680 problem on Orange

I have just upgraded the firmware to v 4.04.07 via the Nokia on line
upgrade - this works very well by the way. I shall now give this a try to
see whether the problem has been cured.

I will be pleased if it is, but also annoyed that Orange have been saying
for weeks that the problem is not with my phone.

Thanks
